Personal Life
Sandra’s love for Christ is evident in her passion and enthusiastic personality. She was born in Guatemala, the third of seven children. Growing up poor and malnourished, she developed a chronic anemia that almost took her life. Both her father and stepfather were alcoholics. As a result of these life struggles, her mother applied for a visa and moved to New York. Sandra stayed behind with her grandmother who was very instrumental in Sandra’s spiritual life. At the age of nine, she became a Christian, and at the age of fourteen, she joined her mother in the United States.
Ministerial Preparation
At a very young age, Sandra knew God had plans for her life. This was evident when in August 1978, she moved to San Antonio to study at the Hispanic Baptist Theological Seminary, known today as Baptist University of the Americas. In May 1982, Sandra graduated with a diploma in theology. In 1994, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University.
Ministry Involvement
For 30 years, Sandra served alongside her husband, Teo, while he pastored Templo Jerusalem Baptist Church in Victoria, Texas. Sandra is mother of three children: Gabriel, Joshua, & Damaris and grandmother to Gabriel, Jonathan, Emily and Khloe. Over these years of ministerial experience, God has given Sandra opportunities to be a speaker, conference leader, writer for Estudios Biblicos Transformadores with BaptistWayPress, counselor, teacher, and mentor. In 2002, she founded Anchored Love Ministries, an organization that ministers to women and families.
Sandra’s Offer to her Audience
Whether she ministers locally in her home town, in the state, nation or internationally, Sandra brings a great deal of spiritual maturity and biblical depth to her audiences. She is natural, genuine, and her spiritual beauty and willingness to be led by God brings a relevant message to women of all ages, backgrounds and denominations. Sandra is an authentic servant of the Lord with a great focus on encouraging women to be the best they can be as individuals. She challenges them to discover and to fulfill their God divine purpose, and inspires women to look beyond their life circumstances in order to discover who they are in Christ and the unique gifts God has entrusted them.
